Calendar Wednesday: An Old Rule but Great Tradition

Three new ethics cases were submitted to OCE (Office of Congressional Ethics). Of course, Tom Price (R-Ga.), John Campbell (R-Calif.) and Joseph Crowley (D-N.Y.) never did anything wrong. Members rarely do after they’re charged.

It will be interesting to see how incumbents’ party label affects their chances for reelection. Nancy Pelosi’s strategy to recruit ideologically diverse candidates in ’06 and ’08 may come back to bite her in this election, particularly in more conservative states.

Transitioning from Jordan’s previous post on the likelihood of health care’s repeal, John Bernstein has a take on how health care might, or might not, hurt Democrats in November.
